Come Together Again
Online appointments throughout California
Relationships can be challenging at times.
Navigating family dynamics can often feel like manoeuvering through a complex labyrinth of emotions and expectations.
Families frequently encounter periods of tension, misunderstanding, and disconnection. Whether it's the challenge of parenting adolescents, handling the nuances of intergenerational relationships, or supporting each other through life’s significant events and traumas.
It’s Never Too Late To Bring You Back Together
Everyone dreams of having a family where every member understands and supports each other, where conflicts turn into opportunities for strengthening bonds, and where major life events bring you closer together.
Sometimes, we all need help. Learning communication strategies and having a therapist guide difficult conversations can rebuild your relationships and create the family you need.
Break down barriers to open, honest conversations that lead to understanding and resolution.
Make sure everyone feels supported and connected, even during challenging times.
Equip your family with the tools to handle grief, change, and conflict.
Hi, I’m Karlie
Understanding the unique pressures and challenges that families face today—from navigating intergenerational dynamics to managing parenting's ebbs and flows and the complexities of significant life transition.
I provide a safe space for every family member to be heard and understood.
I believe that every family deserves to come together when life is challenging.
As a family and relationship therapist, my approach is rooted in the principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I particularly emphasize enhancing communication, deepening connections, and supporting each other through life's moments.
By exploring the dynamics within your family and how each member influences and is influenced by one another, we uncover pathways not only to individual self-improvement but also to strengthening the family as a whole, preserving the unique identity of each member while navigating life together.

I accept Venmo, PayPal, and bank transfers as forms of payment. Payment is expected at the time that services are provided.
My fee is $200 per therapeutic hour (50 minutes.) For longer sessions, my fees are prorated accordingly.
Phone, text, and email communication between sessions are prorated accordingly.
I offer a limited number of sliding-scale appointments for people who would otherwise be unable to engage in therapy at my regular fee. Please contact me if you would like more information.

I don’t accept payments from health insurance providers.
Your health insurance plan may provide an “out-of-network provider” benefit, allowing you to receive reimbursement for the services I provide at the rate your insurance pays. You will receive a monthly invoice, which you can submit to your health insurance company for reimbursement.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes. However, depending on your needs, I offer longer session lengths, which we can discuss when scheduling your initial appointment.
-
At this time, all my appointments are online using a secure, HIPPA-compliant platform to ensure confidentiality. This makes it easy for you to attend appointments without having to worry about parking or getting stuck in traffic.
I see clients on weekdays between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.

Initially, our appointments will be every week. As you start to make progress, your appointments will be every two weeks to once a month. The duration of therapy can vary widely depending on your needs, the nature of the issues being addressed, and the goals of therapy. Some clients may find short-term therapy (e.g., 6-12 sessions) beneficial for specific issues, while others may engage in longer-term therapy to explore deeper emotional patterns or ongoing support. We can discuss this further during your initial session.
-
Our first meeting is an opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, your hopes and goals, any concerns, and a time to answer your questions about my approach. I encourage you to share on a level that feels comfortable for you. Therapy is an inherently vulnerable process; as trust is built, you will feel more comfortable. Finding the right therapist is one of the most crucial elements of therapy. During the first several sessions, you and I will both be evaluating our “fit” and our ability to engage in meaningful and productive work together.
-
Please provide 24 hours notice of cancellation for any appointment you cannot keep or wish to reschedule. The full session fee will be charged for no-shows, cancellations, or rescheduling with less than 24 hours’ notice.

Relationship therapy is not just for couples in crisis. It can benefit partners at any stage of their relationship, whether they are looking to deepen their connection, resolve conflicts, improve communication, or navigate transitions such as marriage, parenting, or retirement. Additionally, family members, roommates, or even close friends can find relationship therapy helpful in understanding and improving their dynamics.
-
Relationship therapy can address a wide range of issues, including communication breakdowns, financial disagreements, intimacy issues, trust and infidelity, parenting challenges, blending families, managing relationships with in-laws, and navigating the aftermath of a crisis or trauma. It also offers support for partners going through separation or divorce.
-
In relationship therapy, the therapist works with the individuals involved to explore the relationship's patterns, dynamics, and issues. Through sessions, partners or family members learn to understand each other's perspectives, communicate more effectively, and develop conflict resolution strategies. I use various therapeutic approaches tailored to the relationship's specific needs, aiming to foster a deeper understanding and stronger bond between the parties involved.

It's not uncommon for one person to be more hesitant about attending therapy. In such cases, individual therapy can still be beneficial for understanding and improving your role within the relationship. Sometimes, seeing one partner engage in therapy and witnessing positive changes can encourage the other to participate. Additionally, therapists can offer strategies for inviting hesitant partners or family members into the process in a non-threatening way.
